Enjoy Tammy’s Chi story below:

Haven the Chihuahua-Pekingnese

Haven the Chihuahua

The way my story goes is I had a chihuahua and it was almost her time to go. I was taking her for a ride in my basket on my bike and I was going by our Walmart  and before I went past it it was like someone was saying to me turn around.

Cuddles the Chihuahua

Finally I did and right outside the store was a guy with a dog in his hand I went over and we got into talking and I said I wouldn’t have Cuddles much longer. The one he was holding was a chihuahua-Pekingnese. He said his mother was breeding them and it was almost like a relief to me that I found a place where I could get another dog.

I gave them my number and a week later they said I could have one of the pups. Cuddles was put down on September 13th and I got Haven October 11th 2004 and October 7th 2015 she was put to rest. I miss her so so much. Haven was like my guardian angel. She found me.

Wow, that's a nasty bruise/bite!

Cathy - that's awful! I'm thankful my bite didn't require stitches. It looks ugly. I grew up with German shepherds, so I wasn't afraid of the dog next door. I am now, sadly! I'm attaching a picture so you can see how ugly my arm looks right now. Fortunately, my sleeve pretty much covers it and I think the sleeve of the shirt I was wearing at the time protected me somewhat too.

Tammy G - I am sorry you have lost two chihuahuas. I know how much it hurts. I lost my first chi almost 3 years ago. I love all my chis, but Keltie was something special. He would have been 18 years old today. I hope you have gotten another furbaby since you lost Cuddles and Haven. Life would be lonely without my girls (I have 2 - a chi and a chiweenie).

Tammy N - Wow, I can't even imagine what your little Sophie Elizabeth went through. It's sad when people don't control their dogs. Glad your story had a happy ending. I know how much it hurts when big dogs bite you. I got bit 5 days ago by my neighbor's German shepherd. He's a very big dog and he stuck his head over my fence and grabbed my arm. There was only a small puncture wound, but my whole upper arm is bruised and still hurts. Fortunately he is up to date on his shots. It's bad that I'm nervous about going out in my own back yard. I check to make sure he's not outside before I let my girls out. I sure don't want anything to happen to them!

German Shepherds can be crazy. I got badly bit (needed stitches) once when I was just talking to my neighbor.

It is so sad your baby got hurt. Owners need to make sure their dogs are in a fence or on a leash. I have 6 pound puppies 2 large dogs and 4 small. 1 Husky, 1 American bull dog, 2 full Chihuahuas, 2 Chihuahua mix and I make sure they are safe and contained at all times. I'm happy your baby made it.

I have 2 chi's Sophie and Lola. I've had 6 total. I'll never own anything but a female chi as long as I live. I hate to admit it, but Sophie is my favorite chi of all time. I've loved them all so dearly, but this was my 1st daughter. About 2&1/2 months ago we were in my front yard. Some pos neighbor was walking his 80 lb husky not on a leash. The dog grabbed up my Sophie Elizabeth. It was the worst thing I've ever witnessed. She ran away from me after the attack. I'm screaming oh god please don't take her this way. I got her and we went to er. Her intestines had been viciously been ripped out, and they were falling into her stomach. We had the "optional/exploratory surgery. Thank goodness we did, because that discovered the intestines. It was the worst ever watching her cry out of her sleep. She's 10, and no I'll never agree that she's elderly. I'm so happy to give y'all a happy ending. My girl is 100% back to her sassy self. She might have her "fancy" h/c for a while, but I think she's ridiculously beautiful no matter what. Btw no thus isn't an on purpose h/c

Hi Tammy, is it okay if I use this in a Chi Story?
