Our Chihuahuas are so beautiful and come in so many amazing colors that I decided to start sharing some of them with you. I’ll also share any details about the dogs that I know with you.

Some are photos that I have kept in my files, and I don’t know what their names are or who their pet parents are.

There is no denying that white Chihuahuas are gorgeous. They are the rarest of all colors in chis.

But they are more likely to have certain health issues. If they have blue eyes too, they may be deaf. Also, their skin may be more sensitive and more prone to skin allergies.

I love these 2 little gorgeous boys. I’m not sure how old they are, but they sure are adorable, aren’t they?

I don’t know who this adorable baby belongs to, and it’s too soon to tell if it will be long-haired or short-haired. It sort of looks like it will be a long-haired Chi to me. This baby is also an apple-headed Chihuahua.

This is a photo from my files, and I don’t have any info about this Chi, but I like his (I’m just assuming it’s a he) intense gaze.

baby and chi1

This is just a stock photo I have, but I think it’s too cute not to share. Just hope that the baby was gentle with the Chi and that the Chihuahua wasn’t snappy towards her! Babies and Chis make me nervous!

    • I do too M.K. They look so cute.

  2. Hi Y’all!

Oh they are so pretty. I’ve never seen a white chi other than photos.

    Y’all come on by,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

    • I tried to leave a comment on your blog but couldn’t find where to do it! I couldn’t find the comment box. I was going to tell you that you weren’t too far from me when you went to the Pamlico Sound area. I’m just a little further up the coast on the Virginia/North Carolina border.

    • My white Chihuahua i Thor, and he is my world

        • my dog looks exactly like thor

  3. What great photos~~each one of them are absolutely adorable~

    • I agree Cathy, they are adorable! Cathy, I tried to check out your post but I couldn’t find a way to get to it. It’s listed on the front page of your site, but nothing is clickable.

    • Thanks! They are pretty cuddly!

  4. Very cute dogs! They seem to be very happy 🙂

  5. Wow! Lots of adorable chis! *wags* – Gilligan from WagsAhoy.com

  6. I never knew that white chis are more likely to have health issues and if they have blue eyes likely to be deaf…any idea why that is? Really interesting, thanks!

    • It’s something in the genes that causes it and it’s not every case of a blue eyed white haired dog but it is a lot more common in them. My vet was telling me about it so I don’t know all the scientific reasons, all I remember was it was caused by a gene mutation or something.

  7. Those photos are just precious!!! I LOVE Chihuahuas of ANY color! The white ones are extra cute though! Barks and licks and love, Dakota

    • I agree Dakota and Caren! I don’t have a white Chi but I would love one!

    • No way! I love Dakota’s furry face!

  8. We hadn’t ever heard that blue-eyed white chis were more likely to be deaf. How interesting! Cats are like that, too, so we wonder if there is something similar at work genetically.

    • yeah I think it’s universal among many species.

  9. That is a lot of puppies. I didn’t know about the blue eyes and possible deafness.

    • Thanks for visiting Mark! Yeah I didn’t know it either but after I found out about it, I have come across several white dogs with blue eyes with that problem.

  10. Such a variety! My personal fav is the longer haired variety and those prick ears are too cute! Happy WW!

    • I like the long haired ones the best too! Thanks for visiting!

    • Yes they are! Thanks for visiting!

  11. I have a white chihuahua with a pink nose and red eyes.. Or this a certain kind of chihuahua??? And he has bugged eyes.

    • Your chi is not fully white. From what I can see, he looks like what they called a splashed Chi which just means he/she is mostly white with splashes of another color. Bugged eyes is normal for Chihuahuas.

  12. Here’s my little girl Estrella (it’s Spanish for Star) she’s not pure white but she’s still adorable and loveable as can be

    • SHe is adorable Tiffany!

    • Yes they are! Thanks for visiting Novroz!

    • I don’t know of any available for adoption Mara but if I hear of any, I’ll let you know. You might want to contact your local rescues and shelters and let them know you’d love to adopt a deaf Chihuahua. They will keep your info and contact you if one comes in.

  14. thanks, Cathy! I am actually my mom’s second little white chi man! Sugar lived for almost 15 years. Mom had my name picked out before she saw me, but knew exactly what she wanted me to look like. My dad’s name is also Kilo and I look like him. My AKC name infact, is Sunar’s Kilo Mini-Me!

  20. My Bella.
My niece wants a dog. Thought I’d mate my Bella and gift her a pup, while also giving Bella a playmate to visit. But finding other white chi’s is hard. Didn’t realize the color is not in ample supply down my way ?

    • Yes white chis are a little more rarer than some of the other colors.

  21. I love your “White Chi” photos. I have attached a photo of my Lucy.

    • Lucy is gorgeous Laura!

    • What a little sweetheart! Love him!

  22. My Merle Chihuahua named Frank Sinatra “Frankie” for his beautiful blue eyes. He is a long hair but I keep him groomed short except for the winter. He is 8 years old and doesn’t have any vision or hearing problems. I love him to pieces!

  25. Loved all the photos, beautiful babies! Theresa

    • Glad you enjoyed them Theresa.

  26. My beautiful Dove

    • She is beautiful Faye and her name fits her.

  27. My white chi chi, Lily she is 8.5 now but here is her as a puppy. I loved when she had those floppy ears!??

  28. This is my Cinnamon. I rescued her a year ago. She loves people and small children! She’s very conscious of the young ones that might hurt her, and only snaps when they do. Then she goes right back to them. She’s also very good with other dogs, once she gets to know them. I’ve always wanted a Chi since I took care of my boss’s. Love her so much ❤️♥️!

    • She sounds like a wonderful girl Linda and she’s so cute!

  29. I really enjoy your posts I especially enjoyed these about white chis because I have a precious white smooth coat chi with a fawn head and face; and, my daughter has a precious white smooth coat chi with one side of her face and head fawn. I really appreciate your including that white chis are more prone to skin issues because I’ve been beating up myself, trying to figure out what I’m doing wrong. Several times in her nearly 5 years, I’ve changed her food, treats, shampoo, given her Alaskan Salmon Oil and nothing has worked. Even my vet had no other suggestions. The one thing I noticed is that she was scratching more after I used the waterless foam shampoo so I won’t be using it anymore. I’m not sure what else to try.

    • She’s beautiful Sheron! yeah, dpm’t beat yourself up. White chis, as pretty as they are, do have a lot of skin issues.
You may have already tried it but I hear Jax and Daisy has a good shampoo for skin problems. Here’s a link to it: https://amzn.to/2QlZHB7
Also some people make their dog’s food and are able to keep track of what goes in it and what their dog is reacting too. I know that’s a pain to do though.

      • Thank you so much for the suggestions.

I tried making her food, which she loved; but, that didn’t change anything.

I tried fish oil but it didn’t help her skin, it just caused her to gain weight.

I tried coconut bath wipes, which seemed to help her some but she still scratched .

She also licks her feet and lower legs until they get sores on them. I rub organic, unrefined virgin coconut oil on the sores-she continues licking them but they heal.
I’m thinking about rubbing her completely down with coconut oil after a bath then wrap her in a warm towel and hold her for about 15 minutes to see if that helps.

I feel so badly for her; even my vet ran out of suggestions.

    • Have you tried adding fish oil to her food? I got some from my vet for my Max and Avi that have dry skin and it’s worked wonders! I just add a couple of squirts to their dry food. As for shampoo, make sure to avoid products that contain alcohol (and all the other names it goes by!), as it is very drying. Any product with oatmeal and/or calendula oil really seems to help my little ones. Best wishes!

      • Great idea about the fish oil Jennifer. I knew there was something else I was forgetting.

  30. My white Chi, Poppy Rose, is such a sweet girl! I adopted her about 6 years ago. Her passion is napping!

    • LOL about her passion. She looks so cute sitting in the flowers.

  31. Hi,everyone. I have a chocolate and white chihuahua. He is a 5year old rescue and now weighs 14 pounds. I noticed that he has brown eyes until he looks into a light, then they look red. Is that normal? Oh, he is also on a diet, want to get him to 9-10 pounds. Any ideas on dry food?

  32. Love this newsletter!

    • Thanks Susan! So glad you enjoy it.

  33. They are truly beautiful. All of them, Cathy!

  34. Thanks for the beautiful parade of white chis. I have had 2 pure white furbabies.

  35. I adapts a white short-haired girl 2 years ago. She has a pink nose. She has a hair loss problem that the vet has been unable to solve.

    • It seems a lot of white dogs tend to have skin and hair issues. Their skin must be more fragile.

  36. …well my computer inserted “adapt” instead of “adopted”. Damn things!

  37. Is there anyone in or near New Smyrna Beach that is selling or rehoming an Applehead Chihuahua. There are so many scammers out here on Facebook, and I want to be able to see the dog myself and reasonably priced.
    Thanks

  38. Absolutely LOVE those precious white chi’s!
Almost too gorgeous to be real!

    • Yes, they really are. I have an all black yorkie, I’d love to have an all white chi for contrast.

  39. Little Miss Minnie captured my heart.

    • She is a cutie, for sure!

  40. In April 2019 this man’s Chihuahua was stolen in Arizona. He is offering his home, land, etc for his baby back. Maybe you can keep an eye out so he won’t have to give away everything to get her back. The dog was a female named Jenny. I provided 2 different news sites that covered his story. One has a better photo than the rest. https://www.google.com/amp/s/people.com/pets/man-offers-one-bedroom-home-reward-missing-chihuahua/%3famp=true

    https://www.odditycentral.com/news/desperate-pet-owner-offers-his-home-to-whoever-finds-his-lost-dog.html

  41. I am interested in a white female deer head chi. I am looking to purchase in the fall but i am looking around now. Do you have some puppies coming up?

    • Sorry Vanda, I don’t sell puppies. I’m not a breeder, I just write about chihuahuas.

  42. Most of those white chis are absolutely delightful. So cute I would be afraid someone would try to steal them. They seem like fine jewels!
    Thanks for sharing them!
