Who says cats and dogs don’t get along? Sometimes they do! They can become the best of friends or just tolerate each other. Be sure to check out our post about cats and chihuahuas getting along.
Either way, there are lots of families that have both cats and dogs. I had a beautiful Himalayan named Nikki along with 5 dogs for many years myself.

Look at this beautiful Bengal cat! Sharron Britton shared this photo of Jax (the cat) and her chihuahua Elliott. She says they get along great and like to snuggle and groom each other.

Jim and Sandy Owens submitted this photo of their 2 chihuahuas and pretty white cat. They all get along but won’t play together (even though the kitty tries to play with them).
Isn’t this puppy and kitten precious? I just want to kiss their little noses.

My little Chi is 10 yrs old. I was lucky enough to get her at 6 weeks old .Her name is Nita. She had to share with my older bigger Chi, LuLu most of her life. . Unfortunately LuLu we lost to Cushings disease . Now Nita has no sister. She is lonely for LuLu I wonder if I could get a kitten to grow up to love Nita? Nita weighs only 2.5 lbs at 10 yrs old so I am not sure if adopting a kitty would be wise. Any suggestions?. I am an old lady of 88 and cannot play with Nita as much as I once did. She does love to play with her toys and me still. I do not want to have her fight with another pet. She is not the friendliest little girl because we don't do a lot of socializing these days. Having someone for her to play with besides me would be a great gift for her. I can tell you for sure I could not make it without my little Nita beside me. She has helped me get through so many hurtfull things this past 10 years. At 10 years she still acts like a puppy and I know I am not as much fun for her as I once was with the two of them. .

All dogs are different and she may enjoy a kitten but then again, maybe not. If you do get one, you would need to give it a few weeks at least because it sometimes takes awhile for new pets to warm up to each other. Is there anyway you could foster a kitten and see hoe she does with it before committing to adopting one?

Hi I’m a new Chi mum his name Max who is 3months old now. Before we bought him we have 2 adult male cats. 1 is 2 years old whom we got from the adoption as a kitty (Monkey)& the other is (Toby)whom we got as a kitten in 2016. We’ve had to put them in the dbl garage as Max keeps chasing them out. Have tried to keep them included feed them, scratchy pole, tell them we still love them. They haven’t been able to come inside and relax or come sleep by us since getting Max. What can we do I’m hoping that they eventually will be acceptable to each other. My cat Monkey comes upstairs to tell us he’s hungry and to make it known to Max that he’s still around. Max is filled with envy can see it in his beady eyes..what can we do?
