  1. My own personal openion is this guy who ever he is.. does “not” have a good spirit… don’t know why, but dogs have instintive personalities and that man has a past of some sort that is not good or healthy, maybe he does drugs or something like that.. but for that dog to continue with that behavior toward this guy and not others, the problem is the guy.. not the dog…I’ve stood in front of a trained security dog and he came up to the fence sounding very vicious and like he’d eat me alive if he could get to me, but i just stood there and talk to him.. and he became quiet and put his nose to the fence to smell my hand and lost all that viciousness for a bit.. i just walked off, with out any problem with the dog.. most dogs just kind of know.. unless they have been really abused beat on stuck in fighting situations, and neglected really bad, and they become anti social, and very scared and hide under things or in corners, etc.

    • Good point Alice. I have one dog who LOVES everyone. Except my granddaughter’s birth father. He is a total jerk and even though he was never mean to my dog, she hated him from the moment she saw him. They just sense things.

    • I don’t think it’s a good idea to back a car with the exhaust blowing into the dog house.I wouldn’t like him either.

    • @Alice kennison, thats an excellent point! I had an experience with a I’ll tempered Alaskan Husky. I have always adored Alaskan huskies and went to visit my cousin that had one. She never told me here dog did not like anyone besides the close family. When I visited her the first thing I saw was this beautiful dog with gorgeous blue eyes. Without another though I walked towards the dog, got on my knees and started to hug and pet her. All of a sudden I notice my cousin and her husband just froze and asked what was wrong. She then told me that her dog did not like anyone besides them. Needless to say I backed up slowly to avoid getting the dog nervous. Funny thing is that after that the dog was all over me. She went towards me on the sofa and jumó on my lap. She even gave me her bully so I can give her some belly rubs. Anyways my point is that her instincts told her I liked animals and deep down she was able to sense it. It’s amazing this sort of sixth sense dogs have and I must say it doesn’t fail one bit.

  2. The dog is in his territory and the man is encroaching on it, the dog is defending what is his, the man should not keep aggravating the poor thing like that

    • Yeah the man does seem to be teasing him some.

      • This poor dog has been conditioned to act this way. This is not the first time this poor animal been set off. This video was not shot in one sequence. Shame on the person who thinks this is funny. It would be appropriate if the dog ripped his jugular out with those ring teeth

  3. This level of animosity is no accident; obviously this brain dead roommate finds it funny to torment the dog, he needs to back off or move out.

    • You may be right Schuyler.

  4. Ok… this is a MEAN … rotten little dog. It needs proper training and needs to learn that he’s not the pack leader. I don’t know how ANYBODY would think this is funny, cute, it’s unacceptable from ANY BREED . This dog could…. and WOULD inflict serious injury …. even to a small child or infant. I have 4 dogs… one a beautiful sweet teacup Chi. ALL my girls will bark if they don’t know you, but will greet you with bringing toys to you … like you are family once you are welcomed in by the PACK LEADERS. This dog is not fit to be around ANYONE with his behavior. This isn’t funny at all. and definitely not sweet.

      • I have a rescue Chihuahua that was badly abused by her previous, male owner. She acts the same towards men, as the dog in the video. Except for Mel, who is 75. Princess has taken to him with total affection and devotion. Dogs remember abuse! Takes tremendous love, patience, commitment and behaviour modification to help them recover. Suspect Chi in video was abused or is protecting something in his kennel.

        • Sometimes it’s just bad breeding and lack of training too.

    • It’s not the dog, it’s the man teasing the dog.chi s are so small they try to protect when ever they think there’s a need. I know mine will bite you if you tease them, I have two a deerhead 4# and a apple head 2#. I ask the vet and he said that is normal what is not normal is this guy teasing the dog.

      • He didn’t seem to be teasing the dog but I guess just by getting close to the dog’s house, the dog was letting him know that was his territory and don’t come closer.

        • This guy must have done something to this poor baby, Chihuahuas are very smart and can tell if someone is good or bad, the owner of this Burnaby should pay attention to his or her dog, it’s trying to tell you something.

          • You may be right Bessie.

  5. I don’t see anything inappropriate with how the man is interacting with the dog.

  6. First the guy shouldn’t just walk up to the chihuahuas home . Who wouldn’t attack if a stranger just came in your territory of home . Second I’ve had chihuahuas almost all of my life and they never like to be challenged. It’s best to ignore them when first meeting one. When someone strange comes into my home I tell them do not look at her ? Once eye contact is made with my baby she will never back down . If they ignore her upon arrival to my home eventually she will get closer to them . But throughout this process I tell them don’t acknowledge her . Eventually she will stick her feet or their legs and then it’s a win. Whomever owns this Chi might want to pay close attention to what upsets him/ her and try to avoid situations like this

  7. There is something about the man that the dog doesn’t like. I had a chihuahua years ago that didn’t like a guy I was dating. If the guy came over he had to sit on one end of the sofa and I sat on the other. The dog sat between us and if the guy even moved a finger my dog was on him in a split second.

    • I bet that was an interesting dating relationship. It may be that your dog was just jealous of the guy.

  8. I have a rescue chi he was abandoned in a cage. He has horrible separation anxiety. He will go in his house but if I go to close the door this is what happens. He has bit me once when I put a diaper on him but we will work through this. Luckily he has his own bedroom and I have an adult only home. Hopefully he will trust again.

    • It may take awhile but hopefully he will come to trust you. Bless you for taking on that little guy.

  9. I read all replies. I have 2 chis. Both of them will be aggressive like this little one if they think I’m in danger even if no one has made a move towards me. I do know that dogs, any breed, instinctively knows if someone is good or bad. I also know if someone stuck a camera that close to my face I would go off too. Man needs to leave the dog alone.

    • True Carol. If he already knows the dog doesn’t like him, he’s just making it worse by sticking a camera in his face.

  10. My male chihuahua does not like my daughter’s husband, and will bark at him whenever he sees Chris, but then again, I am not very fond of him either so my chi is probably just picking up on my body language and feelings about the guy. My female chi doesn’t seem to care one way or the other about Chris, she is a timid little thing who prefers to be left alone by almost everybody but me.

  11. Maybe this chi just doesn’t like cameras!!

    • Probably doesn’t Mary.

  12. This dog desperately needs obedient training. I do not think the fellow provoked him. He is vicious. Do something NOW, before you are sorry.

    • You think so? You may be right.

  13. It may help him to come home with treats, Also Chiwahwahs don’t like loud stomping sounds. If he came home, treats in hand and walked and talked softer perhaps he could change this chi’s mind. If he has kicked at the dog or hurt her, forget it. Chi’s never forget!

  14. Just being a typical Chihuahua.
